Wallace Williams

Wallace Williams, 72, went to be with his Lord and Savior after passing peacefully at home in Liberal, Kansas, on April 4, 2026, after a three-year battle with cancer

Wallace was the sixth of 10 siblings, born on August 10, 1953, in Amory, Mississippi, to John Hubert Williams and Mary Evelyn Tipton Williams.

Wallace spent most of his career working in oil and gas exploration in the United States and overseas, and he also worked for many years with his brother Joel at Williams Electric. After leaving the oil and gas industry, he started his own construction company in Liberal, KS.

When Wallace wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, playing cards, and spending time with his family and friends. First and foremost, he loved reading and studying God’s Word. He had a profound understanding of the Bible and loved sharing his knowledge with others. His faith was a testament to his character, and he never missed an opportunity to share it with everyone he met.

Wallace survives by his wife, Amy Williams; his daughters, Maria Williams, Taylor Graves (Travis), and Khristina Gibson; his grandchildren, Elijah Galaviz, Tobias, Takoda, Thorin, Tyrson, and Talon Graves; Zaiden, Hadley Rose Mendiola; and Juniper Grace Wright.

He is also survived by his siblings: Larry Williams (Kay), Gary Williams (Peggy), Joel Williams (Sylvia), Tony Byson Williams, Janice McMinn, Wanda Walker, Debbie Gibbs, Shelia Hackett (Clayton), Denise Welch (Randy), along with a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, Wallace was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Johnnie Gibbs and Donald McMinn, and his nieces and nephews, Tonia Renae Harmon, DeShay Williams, Marty Stephenson, Jerry L. Franks, and Christy Williams.

There will be a private family celebration of life at Crenshaw Cemetery in Greenwood Springs, Mississippi.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Wallace’s memory to Crenshaw Cemetery by contacting Ginger Hartley at 662-640-2370. Make checks payable to Crenshaw Cemetery Fund.
