Van Griffin Ritter
Van Griffin Ritter, 77, finished his time here on Earth and continued his eternal life in
Heaven on Saturday, December 16, 2023. He was born on February 1, 1946 in Hatley,
Mississippi to the late Griffin Ritter and the late Mary Faye Cox Ritter Crook.
He graduated from Hatley High School and furthered his education at Mississippi State
University, earning an industrial technology degree. He was a people- loving person with
a passion to bring others to Christ through his work, his travels, his church, and his daily
life. Through his trials and tribulations he wanted to bring glory to God and bring others
with him into eternal salvation.
He married the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth Lantrip on February 1, 1968. He is
survived by his wife, two children, six grandchildren, his sister, his stepbrother, and their
families.
A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at
Meadowood Baptist Church with Dr. Lloyd Sweatt officiating. Visitation for family and
friends will begin at 12:00 p.m. that day.
