Trenton “Trent” “Leon” Carter

Amory – Trenton Leon Carter, 80, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021, and he began his new life in Heaven. Leon was born on June 10, 1941, in Amory, MS to the late Trenton D. Carter and Tula Mae Cowart Carter.

Leon grew up in Hatley, MS and graduated from Hatley High School. He continued his education at IJC and Mississippi State University. Always a Patriot, he proudly served in the Mississippi National Guard for over eight years. He married the love of his life, Pamela, and together they were blessed with two children and three grandchildren. Leon worked at Walker Manufacturing, where he was the Production Supervisor for 35 years; then, he worked for Jim Walter Homes where he was the Construction Manager for 15 years and those co-workers were his other family.

A fine Christian man, Leon was devout Baptist who was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where he was a Deacon for many years. He was also a Youth Leader and was quick to volunteer when needed. He was always happiest when he was helping others; his faith meant the world to him. Leon attended East Amory Baptist Church where he enjoyed the fellowship of those members as well. He never met a stranger and had many close friends; some of his close friends were Marvin Wade, Mike Riley, Joyce Kay Howell. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, wood working, and socializing with others.

More than anything, his faith in God and his family were his world. He loved them dearly. His friends and family know that he is with Jesus, so in that they have peace; yet, they will miss him in the days and years to come. All the memories of him will be cherished for generations to come.

Left behind to treasure the memories are his loving wife, Pamela, Amory; daughter, Tammy Wiygul and her husband Trip, Germantown, TN; son, Billy Carter and his wife Robin, Amory; grandchildren, Connor Wiygul, Evan Wiygul, and Brianna Carter; sister, Doris Pickle and her husband Junior; nieces and nephews, Jamie Huckabee, Debbie Dewitt, Jason Gregory, Dewayne Pickle, Richard Hogan, Timmy Pickle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Trenton D. Carter and Tula Mae Cowart Carter.
