Amory- Tony Lynear Lovern, 73, passed away December 25, 2024 at River Place Nursing Center. He was born April 27, 1951 in Amory to Hal and Kathleen Vaughn Lovvorn.
Tony enjoyed working for many years at KFC. Being a quiet person, he had rather be at home watching TV with his pups, Lucky and Lucy. His favorite pastime was catering to them and taking them for a ride in their Jeep. He jokingly said that they were the only dogs he knew of that had their own vehicle and a trundle bed to sleep in.
After becoming ill, he reluctantly moved to River Place. This was certainly an adjustment. It did not take long, before he was playing BINGO and wondering why he hadn’t moved there sooner. Having worked in the food industry, he often made it challenging for the River Place culinary staff to live up to his expectations. He really enjoyed the staff, although he may not have let them know.
Tony was ready to be healed and have a sweet reunion with his best friend, Sue and his brother, Hal.
He is survived by his nieces, Kim Comer (Jason), Rhonda Burrow (James), Angela Johnson (James), and Janice Neal; nephews, Gary Lovern (Mendy) and Eddie Sanders (Kay); and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sue Parks Lovern; step daughter, Monica Cross; brother, Robert Hal Lovern; and sister, Mary Ann Swann.
Celebration of Life Services will be held Friday, December 27, 2024 at 3:00 PM at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory, MS. Burial will follow at Haughton Memorial Park, Amory, MS with Pallbearers being Gary Lovern, Lyrik Harris, Jason Comer, and Drew Comer.
