Sandra Lynn Koenig Fears
Amory – Sandra Lynn Koenig Fears, 46, passed away on August 26, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, MS. She was born on December 15, 1976, in Painesville, Ohio, to Carolyn Haas Koenig and the late Frank Ernest Koenig.
Since the age of 3, she attended St. Helen Catholic’s Church and was a member. Sandra loved God and showed others great kindness during her whole life. Sandra grew up in Amory, Mississippi and graduated from Amory High School. After graduating from Amory, she furthered her education at North West Community College and ICC. She obtained her Associates in Nursing and worked for many years as a nurse. Sandra worked primarily at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, at Gilmore Hospital in the ER, and lastly she worked at Diversicare Nursing Center. In her career, she helped many people navigate the long road to recovery as well as the delicate times during life in the later stages. Her big heart was evident when she was helping families in the medical field.
Her daughters made her so proud and they meant the world to her. She was real close with her mother and as a youth her family started a tradition of going on vacations to the beach. She made many great memories through the years with her family and she was always passionate about taking time out to go to Panama City. She often put others before herself and she cared for all sorts of pets, including her shelter dog “Rudy” and her pig “Oink”. Sandra was passionate about the ASPCA and donated from time to time to their cause.
Sandra knew how to make anyone smile and laugh and could lift the spirits in a room within no time at all. She was free spirited, fun loving and had a great sense of humor. During high school, she made many friends and through the years they all stayed close. A certain group of them called themselves the “Ya Ya Sisterhood” and they often gathered to reminisce on good times in the past and talk about life.
A woman who had traveled and experienced much, she like to listen to all sorts of music, including Rod Stewart, Willie Nelson, Simon and Garfunkel and Tupac Shakur. She also liked any type of music that made her feel like dancing. In years past, she had taken trips to Germany and enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and recently she had started a new hobby of growing flowers.
Throughout her life, wherever she worked, she made new friendships and touched many hearts with her kindness. She was so compassionate and blessed by God with so many wonderful friends.
Some considered her an angel here on earth as she had such a kind hearted soul. Sandra will be forever in our hearts.
