Sandra Kay "Sandy" Hudson

Sandra Kay "Sandy" Hudson, age 80, of Decatur, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2025, in Huntsville, Alabama. Born on May 17, 1944, in Amory, Mississippi, Sandy was known for her deep love for her family, a life of faithful ministry and her joyful and radiant spirit that touched everyone she met.

Sandy was married for 65 years to her beloved husband, Van Dale Hudson. Together, they raised a loving family and served in full-time evangelistic and pastoral ministry, where Sandy was especially passionate about children's ministry and was known for her ventriloquism featuring Archie the Woodenhead.

She attended Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville and spent much of her life in service to others, managing Hudson's Bookstore for 30 years and also working as an elementary teacher. Her greatest joys came from spending time with her family, cooking, homemaking and blessing others with her gentleness, encouragement, kindness and faith.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Van Dale Hudson and their three sons: Dale Hudson (Pamela), Devin Hudson (Ashley) and Derek Huston (Aubrey). Sandy was a proud grandmother to Josh Hudson, Caleb Hudson, Kayleigh Espinosa (Chris) , Ragan Hudson, Zac Hudson, Levi Hudson, Maddox Hudson, Everett Hudson and Evie Hudson. She was also blessed with 2 great-grandchildren Liam and London and is lovingly remembered by her siblings, Forrest and Dwight Minor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, F.L. and Este Lee Minor.

A Visitation will be hold from 9:00 to 11:00 on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Pearce Chapel Church, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. officiated by her husband and sons. She will be laid to rest at Pearce Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Josh Hudson, Caleb Hudson, Chris Espinosa, Zac Hudson, Ken Williams and Kenny Sumerford.

Sandy's legacy of faith, warmth, energy and unwavering love for her family and the church will live on in all who knew her.
