Loraine Sullivan, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at Country Wood Manor in Mantachie, Mississippi. Born on October 28, 1944, in Fulton, Mississippi, Loraine dedicated her life to serving others, becoming a distinguished social worker credited with 38 ½ years of remarkable service, ultimately achieving the position of Supervisor at the Family and Children's Service before her retirement in 2008.
Loraine’s educational journey began at Fulton IAHS, where her commitment to learning blossomed and continued at Mississippi State University and the University of Southern Mississippi, where she earned her Master’s degree. Her education not only equipped her for her esteemed career but also underscored her unwavering dedication to improving the lives of families in her community.
Faith was the cornerstone of Loraine’s life, serving as her guiding light. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, where she found strength and purpose within her vibrant community. Her involvement extended beyond the church, as she was also a proud former member of the Pilot Club, engaging deeply with initiatives that promoted service to others.
Family held a paramount place in Loraine s heart. She was married to her cherished husband, Jimmy Sullivan, with whom she shared a loving relationship filled with mutual respect and joy. Their bond was the foundation upon which their beautiful family thrived. Loraine was immensely proud of her daughter, Amanda Williams, and her son-in-law, Chad, as well as her son, Jason Sullivan, and daughter-in-law, Mandy, and the love they created together. Her greatest pride, however, stemmed from her role as a grandmother to her three granddaughters—Macie, Mylie, and Anna Kate—each of whom brought her boundless joy and fulfillment.
Loraine was also a loving sister to Bobbie Nell Larkin and held a special place in the hearts of her nephews, Brian and John Larkin. The warmth and love she shared with her family and friends will forever be remembered and cherished.
Though Loraine has departed this world, her spirit lives on through the lives she touched and the legacy of kindness and compassion she leaves behind. She is preceded in death by her father, McCellan Crafton, and her mother, Ruble Asilee Crafton, who certainly watched over her with pride from above.
As we remember Loraine Sullivan, let us celebrate a life lived with purpose, love, and unwavering faith, and honor her memory by striving to emulate her loving spirit in our own lives.
A Celebration Of Life Service will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 1:00pm at EE Pickle Funeral Home with Dr. Allen Simpson officiating. Burial to follow at Sandy Springs Cemetery in Fulton, MS. A visitation for family and friends will be held at 12:00pm before the service.
