Mary Jo "Jody" Steinke

Mary Jo “Jody” Steinke

Mary entered heavens golden gates with her close family surrounding her and became totally healed August 17, 2024. Once she opened her eyes in Heaven she was welcomed by her loving husband, Kenneth “Big K “ Steinke who she married on December 17, 1982 and her son Big Mike. She was the first born of James and Eudell Hall.

She attended Amory High School until 1980. They were blessed with three children, Memy, Maranda and Mikey. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother, and awesome grandmother that anyone could ask for. She could light up a room with her smile. She was so soft spoken, but wasn’t afraid to tell you how she felt when she needed too. Mary was an avid Ole Miss fan and wasn’t afraid to shout out HOTTY TODDY every chance she got. She loved to read day and night and her favorite books were John Grisham and romance books. She loved her hallmark shows, sunflowers and her favorite color was purple. Mary worked for Amory Walmart for 19 years working in many departments such as grill/deli, bakery, and cashier. She was a Baptist in faith and long life member of Wildwood Baptist Church and a former member of Providence Baptist Church. Mary cherished everyone with her big warm heart. She just loved everyone. If only we could love like her the world would be a better place.

She lived by her favorite Bible verse “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV She is survived by her daughters, Maranda Steinke (Jason Caldwell), Amory, Memy Steinke Parker (Sarah), Amory; mother, Eudell Hall; father, James Hall, mother-in-law, Shirley Steinke; grandchildren, Terri Ritter, Dakota Croft (Anthony), Trinity Steinke (Hunter Lopez), Harley Basham, Breanna Ritter, Zacharias Smith, Emma, and Lily Caldwell; great-grandson, James Micheal Steinke; soon to be great granddaughter, Mary Ella Lynn Croft; sister, Marilyn Poirier (Darain); sister-in-laws, Shirley Jean Price, Linda Steinke, Brenda Steinke, and Jessica Sloan (Donnie); brother-in-law, Charles Steinke (Jamie); nieces and nephews, JR Capps, Miley Poirier, Melissa Tucker, Tonyia Simpson, Tom Price, Robert Steinke, James Steinke, Libby and Micah Sloan, Kayla Richey, Eric Richey, Brittany Smith, and Brandon Steinke, and her best friend, Vickie Brown.
