Martha Sharon Myatt, born on January 9, 1964, in Amory, Mississippi, passed away on June 9, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Amory. A beloved wife, mother, and friend, Sharon's life was a testament to love, dedication, and unwavering care for those around her.
From the very beginning, Sharon showed an innate gift for compassion and healing, which led her to pursue a nursing degree and become a Registered Nurse. She devoted many years of her career to labor and delivery, where she touched countless lives, bringing new life into the world with gentle hands and a nurturing heart. Her colleagues and patients alike knew her as someone who was not only highly skilled but deeply caring – a combination that defined her both in her profession and in everyday life.
Sharon was a woman of a fiery spirit and a generous heart. With an extremely sharp memory and the courage to speak truths kindly yet firmly, she held a unique place in the hearts of those who knew her well. She would lovingly tell you where you were wrong but, more importantly, help you find the right path forward. Her characteristic phrase, “suck it up buttercup,” was met with smiles and understanding, a reflection of her tough love that always came from a place of profound love and support.
She cherished the beach, lifting her spirit by the sound of the waves, and found delight in scrapbooking, a hobby that allowed her to preserve memories with care. An earnest born-again Christian, her faith was the cornerstone of her life, cultivated in the community of Grace Fellowship Baptist Church, where she found solace, strength, and fellowship. and dear friends Bro. Danny and Melinda Burks.
Sharon's proudest accomplishments were her family and the triumphs of seeing her son, Kyle Myatt, through high school—moments that filled her heart with immense pride and joy. She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Myatt; her devoted son, Kyle Myatt; her mother, Nellie Phillips; and an extended family who loved her dearly, including her brother Ronny Phillips and his wife Nancy, uncle Jimmy Phillips and his wife Frankie, nephews Blake Phillips (Kayla), Jason Phillips (Amanda), Jay Carroll (Holly), and Nick Carroll (Debralee). She also leaves behind her mother-in-law Faye Myatt, and brothers-in-law Ricky Lee Myatt Sr. (Debbie) and Michael Keith Myatt (Beth). Pallbearers will be Colby Burks, Bobby Camp Jr., Blake Phillips, Bentley Phillips, Jason Phillips, Bo Camp, and Brandon Camp. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ritchie Camp, Jimmy Phillips, and Steve Phillips.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Phillips, father-in-law Naum Myatt, brother-in-law Robert Terry Myatt, and cherished friends Nell and D.C. Camp.
Visitation will be held on June 11, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory, Mississippi, located at 500 3rd Ave South. This will be immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM, with Bro. Danny Burks officiating.
Sharon Myatt’s spirit shone brightly—caring, loving, forgiving, and fiercely loyal. Her legacy remains alive in the hearts she touched, the family she nurtured, and the countless lives she helped bring into this world.
