Marilyn Jeanne Murray-Benoche, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on May 30, 2025, at the Oak Tree Assisted Living Facility in Amory, Mississippi. She was born on May 14, 1936, in Waukegan, Illinois, and lived a life rich in love, service, and cherished memories.

Marilyn's career spanned many years at State Farm Insurance Company, where she dedicated herself to serving the public and aiding families through essential insurance products. Her work was a testament to her compassionate nature and desire to protect those around her.

An alumna of Zion High School in Zion, Illinois, Marilyn carried forward a spirit of learning and joy. She was known for her love of entertaining, often gathering family and friends around for shared meals and laughter. Her passions extended to waterskiing and vacationing with her family, where she created lasting memories that will be treasured forever. Beyond her love for outdoor activities, Marilyn was passionate about cooking, music, and reading. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was playing card games or watching birds in her yard.

Known for her deep and abiding faith, Marilyn was passionate about singing hymns and gospel music, which enriched her spiritual life and connected her to her community. She actively supported Mahon Missions, demonstrating her commitment to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Africa. Marilyn drew immense pride from her relationship with Jesus and the family she lovingly raised. Her faith was a source of strength and guidance throughout her life.

Marilyn is survived by her loving daughter, Dawn Coker, and her son, Byron Coker (Sheila). She enjoyed the company of her grandchildren, including Jason Coker, Kyle Jolly (Amber), Chase Coker, Ashli Solomon (Garrett), Katelyn Coker, Brandon Easter (Lindsey), and Courtney Sharkey (Rob). Her legacy continues with her great-grandchildren: Jaedin Sharkey, Tyler Sharkey, Conor Sharkey, Riley Sharkey, Caden Solomon, Jaylen Coker, Haylei Coker, Lea Coker, Taylor Coker, Leila Jolly, Emma Jolly, Aubree Easter, and Kylee Easter. Along with her great-great grandson, Junior Coker.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Benoche, who had shared over 20 years of companionship with her, as well as her parents, Bill and Emily Murray.

As we remember Marilyn Jeanne Murray-Benoche, we celebrate a life characterized by love, kindness, and unwavering faith. She leaves behind a remarkable legacy in her family, a testament to the values she held dear throughout her life. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
