Mabel "Mae" Kathyrn Childers Wilson

Amory – Mabel “Mae” Kathryn Childers Wilson, 86, became totally healed and came into the presence of her Savior on October 13, 2022. She was born on January 8, 1936, in Shannon, MS to the late Homer Childers and Janie Clark Childers.

Mae grew up in Lee County and graduated from Shannon High School. She married her best friend, Cecil on April 15, 1955 and they lived life together for 65 happy years. They were blessed by God with four children. A great mother and provider, Mae worked as a Seamstress for many years at Red Cap Industries until she retired. She was a hard worker at both her home and her employment place.

A wonderful Christian lady, Mae loved her family and all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Hatley, MS and she loved the Lord dearly. Her fellow church members were her extended family and she enjoyed the fellowship they shared together through the years. She liked to listen to both gospel music and classic country.

A lot of fun, Mae had a sweet personality and was real outgoing. After passing on some prized information to folks, she would often instruct them “don’t tell nobody”. Her smile was contagious and the joy she gave others was priceless. She loved to be outside with her beautiful day lilies and also hunting treasures at both auctions and yard sales. Her husband was her best friend but after his passing, she made many more close friends, especially Kay Bain. Mae loved on everyone and her presence will be missed.

Her family and friends know that she is at peace and completely healed, and with that awesome comfort, they celebrate her home going.
