Kenneth Rex Stokes, a beloved father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, at his son's residence in Columbus, Mississippi. Born on June 13, 1952, in Columbus, MS, Kenneth lived a life rich in love and dedication to his family.
Kenneth graduated from Hamilton High School in Mississippi and carried with him the values instilled by his Baptist faith throughout his life. A proud patriot, Kenneth served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. His commitment to his country was matched by his loyalty to his family, which he cherished deeply. Kenneth was a self-employed mechanic, where he not only applied his talents but also shared his passion for cars and motorcycles. He enjoyed the thrill of racing and took great pride in building race cars, an endeavor that showcased both his mechanical prowess and his adventurous spirit.
Known for his loving and caring personality, he especially treasured the time spent with his grandchildren: Brantlee, Easton, Everlee, Brody, and Blake. The moments shared with them were some of his happiest.
His memory will be honored at a graveside service on May 14, 2025, at Memorial Gardens of Columbus, MS. The service will begin at 11:00 AM, with a gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of a man who profoundly impacted those around him.
Kenneth is survived by his two sons, Kenny Stokes and Kevin Stokes, along with Kevin's wife Shelby, all residing in Columbus, MS. His grandchildren, Brantlee, Easton, Everlee, Brody, and Blake. He also leaves behind his brother, Ronnie Stokes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Maxine Rae Stokes; his son, Marc Stokes; his brother, Ricky Stokes, and his sister Sherry Richardson.
Kenneth Rex Stokes will be remembered not just for his accomplishments but for the love he shared, the laughter he brought, and the legacy he left behind in the hearts of his family and friends. His spirit will forever remain a guiding light to those lucky enough to know him.
