Julie Ann Long

Julie Ann Terry Long, passed away on September 22, 2026, in Monroe County, Mississippi. She was born on November 20, 1970, in Amory, Mississippi to the late Cutor and Lyn Terry. Julie was a woman who was loved by many and will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and generous spirit.

Julie attended Aberdeen Schools and grew up in the Aberdeen Pentecostal Church. From an early age, she understood the value of family as she had five siblings. She was raised with a generous heart and taught to always pitch in and help others. Those lessons stayed with her throughout her life and could be seen in the way she cared for people every day.

Of all the blessings in her life, Julie was most proud of the family God help her build with her husband Ivan. Their three children and their grandchildren were loved so very much. Her grandchildren were the love of her life, and the time she shared with them was especially precious as they brought her so much joy.

She served the public tirelessly through her work. Over the years, Julie worked in the Walmart Automotive Department, as a hospital staff member, cleaning homes and businesses, and lastly at Subway. A very familiar and welcoming smile, Julie took care of so many people there. She served countless people in Monroe County and everyone appreciated her quick and friendly service. She will be missed there. In every career, she brought a smile, cheered people up, and made others feel welcome. She truly was a friend to everyone.

Julie never met a stranger and would give anyone the shirt off her back to help them. She always put others before herself and took care of those who could not take care of themselves. She enjoyed cleaning her home, taking her naps, and spending time with the people she loved. Her joyful and unique spirit was evident in the fact that Julie liked to go dumpster diving for fun. She appreciated what others might consider expendable, finding treasure where others saw trash.

She liked to spend time most of all with her husband and be around her sister Jennie. She often told the people in her life, “I love you,” and was quick to give kisses. Julie will be missed by all that knew her.

Julie is survived by her husband, Ivan Long. She is also survived by her children, Dustin Long and his wife Breanna, Dana Edwards and her husband Chris, and Diana Long and her husband Jon. Julie leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Payton Parker, Ashton Edwards, Olivia Edwards, Carson & Rylie Long; Alli, Jaxson and Maddie Long. She is also survived by her sister, Jennie Terry (John); her brothers, George Hissong and his wife Darlene, and Tracy Hissong; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. They all loved her deeply and will carry her memory forward with love.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas “Cutor” Terry; her mother, Lyn Terry; her sister, Bonnie Terry; and her brother, Andy “Porkchop” Terry.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory, MS. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Fowlkes and Pastor James Godsey officiating. Burial will be in Howell Cemetery and pallbearers will be Dana Edwards, Diana Long, Breanna Long, Ashley Dean, Katelyn Easter, and Megan Reese.

Julie Ann Long will be remembered for her loving heart, her helping hands, her cheerful spirit, and the way she made people feel seen and cared for. Her love for her family, especially her children and grandchildren, will remain a lasting part of her legacy.
