Jimmy W. Riley, a cherished member of the Nettleton community, passed away on October 23, 2025, at NMMC Gilmore, at the age of 76. Born on November 17, 1948, in Nettleton, Mississippi, Jimmy lived a life characterized by simplicity, dedication, and love for his family.

Jimmy devoted 26 years of his life to serving the Verona Public Works, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his community. He took great pride in his job, and his contributions did not go unnoticed by those who worked alongside him.

A proud husband for 45 years, Jimmy shared a deep bond with his wife, Barbara. Together, they nurtured a family filled with love and laughter. He is survived by his children April Riley Cook, Timothy Jenkins, Anthony Jenkins (Tiffany), Taylor Riley (Delacey), and Krystal Riley Neumann (Joe), as well as his grandchildren, Chelsea Hampton (Kyle), Liam and Aidan Riley, and Jenna Jenkins. In addition, he was blessed with two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Silas Hampton. Jimmy also leaves behind his sister, Linda Adams.

A simple country boy at heart, Jimmy found joy in the little things in life. He had a special affection for his dog, Bruno, and relished the time spent watching television, particularly the news and weather. His love for sports was evident in his devotion to NASCAR and Ole Miss football, where he enjoyed celebrating victories and sharing memorable moments with family and friends.

Jimmy was not only a family man but also a loyal friend to many. His closest friends, Larry Hood, Claude Peters, and Tommy Lindsey, will remember him for his kind spirit and readily available support.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two beloved grandchildren, Emily Grace Jenkins and Riley Clay. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held in his honor on October 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Greenbrier Cemetery, Becker, Mississippi with Bro. Robert Fowlkes officiating. The service will provide an opportunity for family and friends to share their condolences with the family of Jimmy, and celebrate a life well-lived.

Jimmy W. Riley will be remembered not just for his accomplishments but for his loving presence and the warmth he brought into the lives of those around him. His legacy will live on through his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched throughout his journey.
