Jimmie Dale Tribble

Aberdeen – Jimmie Dale Tribble, 84, became totally healed and started his new life in Heaven on Tuesday morning, January 31, 2023. He was born on October 8, 1938, in Quincy, MS to the late Jimmy Tribble and Lucille Thompson Tribble.

Jimmie Dale grew up in Monroe County and attended schools at Quincy, Greenwood Springs, and Amory. A proud American and fine young man, he entered into the United States Air Force in 1958, at 19 years of age. His experience serving in the service gave him great pride. In addition to serving in the Air Force, he also retired as a Staff Sargent E6 from the National Guard. While stationed at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California, he met and fell in love with his best friend, Joan Kowalski. They were married on December 1, 1959 and God blessed them with three children and many happy years together.

He was a great provider and after leaving the service, he worked many years to help support his family, at manufacturing businesses including Walker Manufacturing, C&F Construction, and Johnson Custom Buildings. After he retired, he went to work for the Monroe County School System where he helped get children to and from school every day. As a bus driver, Jimmie Dale became an intricate part of so many children’s daily routines. He enjoyed this job and once was awarded the Bus Driver of Year. He was a big supporter of the USO and St. Jude.

Jimmie Dale loved to make people laugh and tell jokes. He got great satisfaction at making you smile and his faith in God was evident in his treatment of others. A Baptist, Jimmie Dale enjoyed spending precious time with his family and friends. He had pets whom he treated as his family members as well. On beautiful days, he took his tractor out for spin and he always kept his gardens plowed and neat. He was competitive and liked playing Dominoes, Chick Scratch, and Rummy. In addition to his wife and family, one of his closest friends was James Hall with whom he made many great memories through the years. Jimmie Dale was a member of the American Legion and he enjoyed the commradorie with his fellow members. He enjoyed chewing tobacco, listening to Country music, especially Johnny Cash, and working on different antiques. A man who enjoyed the company of others, he often would say to others, “If you get there, I want you to help me.”

There is no doubt that Jimmie Dale made so many people smile through the years. His hard work ethic and loyalty blessed his family and those he supported. He will be missed dearly by his family and all the great memories of days gone by will be cherished forever.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Kowalski Tribble, Aberdeen; daughter, Dawn M. Gray (“Buster”), Amory; grandchildren, Candace M. Hodnett, Daniel D. Gray, Marilyn F.
