Jimmy will be remembered as a devoted, intelligent, spiritual, and faithful steward. He served as a deacon at First Baptist Church for many years, a role that reflected the deep faith that guided his life. He had a passion for Ole Miss sports, golfing, and visiting the Smoky Mountains. He also dearly loved his grandchildren, who brought him great joy through the years. He treasured the friendship of Johnny Cadden, Charles Pierce, and Jimmy Blair.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, two still born sons, and his wife, Dorothy Harlow, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.
He is survived by his daughter, Leigh Ann McGonagill(Brian). He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Russ Farrar, Dylan McGonagill(Rachyl), and Abigail McGonagill Crowe(Wesley); his great-grandchildren, Rivers Farrar, Trace Farrar, Livvy Carol McGonagill, Lucy James McGonagill, and Dorothy Crowe; and his siblings, Jean Williams, Bud Harlow(Peggy), and Jewel Kennedy. His memory will continue to live on in the lives of those who knew him, loved him, and were blessed by his steady presence.
