Gerald Dwain Jernigan

Smithville – Gerald Dwain Jernigan, 56, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023 at his residence in Smithville, MS. He was born on January 29, 1967, in Amory, MS to Dorothy Turner Jernigan and the late James Greely.

Gerald attended school in Amory and worked for many years at Lucky Star Industries. He was a great provider for his family. He married the love of his life, Jeana Randolph Jernigan on July 21, 1986 and together they were blessed with two children and five grandchildren. Gerald was a fun loving, very active man who would help anybody that needed help. He was a Christian and a member of Pierce Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. He really enjoyed listening to Gospel music. God and his family meant the world to him and he cherished every moment he could spend with them, especially his grandbabies.

In his down time, he enjoyed doing things outdoors. He was talented at operating remote control helicopters and could maneuver through the tightest of spots. Willie Nelson was his favorite artist and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Some of his closest friends in addition to his wife were his friends J. J. Holloway, Jeff Shepherd, John Pitre, and Terry Strength. He always used some of his favorite sayings during conversations, like “Your kidding” or “Fair to Middlin” and “What you Mean?” Gerald always brought a smile to others faces and he will be missed greatly.

All the memories made with him will be cherished forever.
