*August 27, 1960 – September 1, 2024*

Gary Horace Holley, 64, of Richmond Hill, Georgia, passed away on September 1, 2024. He was born on August 27, 1960, in Tupelo, MS, to the late Herschel and Estelle Gann Holley.

Gary's commitment to service began early when he joined the Army National Guard while still in high school. His dedication and passion for military life led him to active duty in the Army, where he excelled as an honor graduate from AIT school. His leadership ability, attention to duty, and outstanding character were recognized by all who served with him.

During his 11 years of service, Gary earned several military decorations, including the Army Commendation Medal, Expert Badge (Rifle), Air Assault Badge, and the Army Good Conduct Medal. These accolades are a testament to his proficiency in military subjects, personal conduct, and his unwavering dedication to the values of military life.

Gary was married to Beth Williams-Holley, whom he met 17 years ago online. Gary’s heartfelt opening line, "Love of God, family, and Country” resonated with Beth, leading her to send him a “wink.” Although Gary didn’t have a profile picture, his gift for beautiful writing captured Beth’s heart. After months of exchanging emails and phone calls, they finally met in person. Beth was thankful that her future husband was handsome!

Gary was an avid reader and a remarkable storyteller. He never met a stranger, forging friendships wherever he went. His kind heart and generous spirit made him the best G-Pa. He took great pride in keeping his pool squeaky clean for his grandkids to enjoy. He was a hard worker, black coffee connoisseur, and was an animal lover. A man of many talents, Gary loved creating woodworking gifts for his family, and he was always ready to lend a hand, whether it was fixing something around his house or helping a neighbor. He would do anything for the people he loved. Above all, he was a man of faith, holding God close to his heart.

After his military service, he became the maintenance supervisor at Dulany Industries, and later, the land development manager of Ernest Communities. His hard work, dedication, and love for his family were evident in everything he did.

He is survived by his wife Beth Williams-Holley of Richmond Hill, his stepdaughters Jessica Miles (Benji) & Stephanie Lewis (Gary), his adopted daughter-in-law Amanda Kellam; his grandchildren Alyssa and Haiden Carter, Xander and Dakota Miles, Liam Taylor Williams, and Haisley Williams. His two brothers Johnny Holley (Donna) of Amory, MS and Randy Holley of Nettleton, MS, Uncle Wade Holley (Cheryl) and many nieces and nephews. His darling pups Rayna & Casey. Gary fiercely loved all his family.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his stepson Christopher Williams, sister Gail Kuykendall, his brothers Charles Holley and Billy Holley, and his beloved four-legged children Lily and Tebow.

Gary will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Visitation will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Richmond Hill, GA, on Friday September 6, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with memorial service immediately following.
