Frances E. Gladney Rost, born on January 18, 1942, in Aberdeen, Mississippi, departed to her heavenly home on December 2, 2025, in Ripley, Mississippi. Frances lived a life richly woven with purpose and love, marked by her unwavering devotion to her family and her robust career with McCoy's and the BN Railroad.
She was a proud matriarch, blessed with six children, thirteen grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren, each of whom she cherished deeply. Her legacy is one of profound familial bonds and enduring faith, nurtured throughout her remarkable journey.
Frances shared a remarkable connection with her husband, Sonny Rost, with whom she celebrated sixty-four years of love and companionship. Together they crafted a home filled with laughter and warmth, serving as the steadfast foundation for their growing family. Frances’ devotion to her husband and family illuminated her life, fostering a nurturing environment bound by affection and solidarity.
An individual of many interests, Frances found solace in the pages of books, embraced the serenity of gardening, and, above all, relished the time spent with her loved ones. Each moment was a gift, capturing the essence of her spirit—a woman who prioritized family and faith above all else.
Frances is survived by her loving children, Gwen Gilmore, Mike Rost, Cheryl Rost, Robbie Rost, Shane Rost, and Devin Rost; siblings, Wayne Gladney, Buddy Gladney, and Brenda Watkins, along with her sister-in-law, Joyce Conner, thirteen grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Rost, and her dear parents, Bufford Gladney and Wendell Lou (Dowdle) Gladney, as well as her sisters Myrle Pruitt and Joyce Corbine, and daughter-in-law, Tina Rost.

Visitation will take place on December 5, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory, Mississippi. A graveside service will follow at Greenbrier Cemetery in Becker, Mississippi, commencing at 2:00 PM officiated by Bro. Jonathan Craig. Pallbearers Jonathan Brown, Zachary Brown, Charlie Gilmore, Joshua Gilmore, Mike Rost Jr., and Dylan Rost.
