Eva Grace Monaghan, age 91, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, at Diversicare in Amory, Mississippi. Born on October 31, 1933, she was the daughter of Nathan G. Pullen and Maumee Pullen. Eva was a proud graduate of Amory High School class of 1951. She worked for many years, first at the Amory Garment Company and later as the secretary to the Mayor of Amory for 12 years. Her work ethic, kindness, and vibrant spirit left a lasting impression on those who knew her.
Eva was a beloved mother and grandmother and is survived by two daughters, Amy Lemley and Mary Beth Kent; grandchildren Randy Gray, Laura Bloodworth, Derek Gray, John Southard, Jessica Stoltzman, Harley Kent, Candy Wilson, and Zack Jones; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, and her special cat companion Baby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters, Frances Cash and Ruth Brooks, and her two husbands, Greely Jones and Dewey Monaghan, and a son Tony Jones. Eva’s Family brought her immense joy, and she treasured the time spent with them.
A spirited woman, Eva was known for her zest for life. She loved solving jigsaw and crossword puzzles, watching The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, listening to country music, traveling to the Smoky Mountains, and eating chocolate chip cookies.
Eva was a dedicated member of Amory Global Methodist Church and will be remembered for her unwavering faith and loving heart. She lived life with a remarkable spirit that touched everyone around her.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff from Gentiva Hospice and the caregivers at Diversicare for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 12:00 to 1:45 p.m. at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory, MS, with a 2:00 p.m. graveside service to follow at Hatley Cemetery with Bro. Sammy Washburn officiating.
