Dorothy Ann Evans Knowles was released from her earthly body on December the 11th 2025. She was born October the 15th 1937. She now resides in Heaven with her Savior and all her family and friends who have gone before her. She will be greatly missed as she was greatly loved by all who knew her.

She attended Nettleton High School and worked in the furniture industry until her retirement. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sibling, and friend. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Nettleton. She enjoyed cooking and had many “signature dishes” that were anticipated during holidays and family celebrations. She held a Master Gardener’s degree from the Mississippi Master Gardeners Association. She spent many days working in her yard, garden and flower beds for her own pleasure and the enjoyment of her family and friends. She loved to entertain visitors and would often walk with them in her yard and gardens. She was a gifted homemaker and would preserve the bounty of her gardens for all to enjoy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David H. Evans and Dorothy Rogers Evans, her husband of 67 years, Medford Harrison Knowles, a son, Medford Harrison Knowles Jr., a sister, Sara Evans Gary, a brother, David H. Evans Jr., and two brothers-in-law, Dr. William Gary and Murray Akers.

She leaves two daughters, Peggy Cain, Penne Warren, one son, John David (Bonnie) Knowles, and one daughter-in-law, Donna Knowles. Grandchildren, Lee (Crystal) King, Jana Knowles, Jake (Terah) Knowles, Tabitha (Shawn) Oswalt, Samantha (Mason) Jones, and Robin Hankins. Great-grandchildren, Sara Knowles, Jacob Jones, Katelyn Knowles, Gabe Hankins, Wade Hankins, and one great-great-grandchild “Little” John Oswalt. One sister, Pat Evans Akers and a sister-in-law, Janice Evans. She also leaves behind many nieces , nephews and a great number of friends.

A private service will be held on Sunday, December the 14th at 3 pm for family and friends at her home in Nettleton. Services will be officiated by Brother Tommy Monts and Pastor Steve Chappell. Honorary pall bearers will be her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild.
