Donald Edward Gadow, Jr. "Donnie" was a very special man. He was born on September 19, 1962 in St.
Petersburg, FL. As a baby, he and his family relocated to Okolona, MS where he spent most of his life into
adult hood. Later, they moved to Nettleton for 10 years then to Amory, MS. His last few years, after an
extensive reconstructive foot surgery he spent in Fulton at "The Meadows" where he made many friends and the last few months in Okolona at Shearer Richardson Memorial Nursing Home.
Donnie completed school at Okolona High School through 8 th grade. He had overcome many obstacles in his lifetime that doctors and specialists thought he never would. Here on earth Donnie was our "Perfectly
Imperfect" Angel. When he was little our daddy built him a podium to preach from and after he would finish a perfectly unscripted sermon, that many never got to hear, he would then lay his Bible on the bed and pick up his song book and lead a song in worship.
Donnie could always put a smile on anyone's face with his witty personality. He never told a lie and believed everyone told the truth and a promise should always be kept. He was an excellent "speller" and if you misspelled something ... know that he would correct it for you. Donnie loved to read the newspaper from front to back, tell redneck jokes, do seek-a-word, play BINGO, play on his IPad, singing gospel music, was an avid Ole Miss Fan and loved to spend time eating and gathering with family and friends. Donnie loved attending the First Baptist Church Services and events in Amory and was a member of The First Friends Respite Center.
Donnie's life was simple. He never knew the entanglements of wealth and power. He was always free from
pride and unconcerned with appearance of himself and others. Donnie was kind and never met a stranger. He loved God, had the simple faith of a child, and seemed to know God as his comforter. Perhaps we are the one with the "handicap" instead of Donnie. Either way, we know Donnie has no limitations in Heaven now! Donnie is survived by his parents, Don and Glynda Gadow of Amory, MS, one sister, Gayle George (Larry) of Amory, MS, one niece Allison Harris of Amory, MS, one nephew, Cody Harris (Rachel) of Nettleton, two great nephews, Dawson Beasley and Henry Harris; one great niece, Aleah Beasley; a host of Aunts, Uncles and cousins that loved him dearly; Along with special friends Linda Mooney Carnathan of Okolona, Julee' Stepp from The Meadows, Amanda Phillips and Stacey Allred of Amory, and Abigail Jones of Nettleton, MS.
Funeral Services will be held at Lee Memorial Funeral Home in Verona, MS with Bro. Dale Hood and
Bro. Buzz Wilkerson officiating on January 16, 2023 at 2pm. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-2 pm. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Rappe', Cody Harris, Dawson Beasley, Andrew Aldridge, Jase Aldridge, and Peyton
Aldridge. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Tapp, Jerry Reese, Freeman Rappe', Wayne Gadow and Anthony Rea.
