With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Bobbie Amos, a luminary whose indelible mark upon the automotive industry and her community resonates deeply. Born on October 6, 1935, in Amory, Mississippi, Bobbie departed this life on April 12, 2026, in Villa Rica, Georgia, closing a chapter wrought with pioneering spirit, resolute ambition, and unparalleled achievement.
Bobbie was not merely a woman of business; she was a true trailblazer, whose fortitude and vision propelled her to the apex of an industry historically resistant to female leadership. As the CEO and Owner of J&B Amos Inventory, the largest independently owned inventory specialist enterprise in the Southeast. Under her stewardship, the company flourished, earning respect and admiration from colleagues, clients, and competitors alike. Together with her husband, Jim Amos, she stewarded one of America’s most substantial inventory services supporting auto dealerships—a testament to their shared dedication and entrepreneurial excellence.
Her formative years unfolded in Amory where she completed her education at Hatley High School. Throughout her life, Bobbie’s strong-willed nature and unyielding ambition not only characterized her professional endeavors but also illuminated her personal passions. She delighted in traveling the world’s vast expanses and cherished every moment spent in the loving company of her children and grandchildren. These pursuits were reflections of a soul that balanced formidable success with profound devotion to family.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Michael Vereline (Erica); grandsons, Ethan Clair and Joseph Vereline; granddaughter, Michelle Cantrell; great-grandchildren, Nicole Buckner, Elizabeth Strawbridge, Juli Strawbridge, Mia Vereline, Taylor Vereline, and Chase Strawbridge; nephew, Doug Cuthbert(Pam) and Josh; son-in-law, Johnny Cantrell; daughter-in-law, Teresa Vereline; step brother Jimmy Brown along with many beloved cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Bobbie’s loss is deeply felt by those who knew her and those whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her father, John Sharp Parham and mother, Maudie Pickle Harden. She now reunites in spirit with her children, Joey Stanford, Debra Cantrell and Greg Vereline; brother, Douglas Oneal Parham; sister, Bonnie Parham; stepmother, Ollie Belle Parham and stepsister, Julia Rae Parham whom all passed before her time.
Visitation to honor Bobbie’s remarkable life will be held on April 30, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory, Mississippi. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 PM with Scott Johnson officiating, with a burial at Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doug Cuthbert, Joseph Vereline, Dustin Buckner, and Ethan Clair.
Bobbie Amos’s journey stands as a beacon for generations, emblematic of resilience, innovation, and unwavering commitment. Her story is woven into the hearts of those she loved. As we bid farewell, we celebrate a life robustly lived and a legacy eternally cherished.
