Betty Jean Russell, a beloved mother and housewife, departed this world on April 9, 2025, at her residence. Born on April 8, 1939, in Hartsell, Alabama, Betty lived a life rich in love, creativity, and devotion to her family. She was united in marriage to her cherished husband, Artis Russell, on October 15, 1955, embarking on a journey together filled with companionship and countless memories.

As a nurturing mother, Betty devoted her time and energy to her children: Artis Russell Jr. (Victoria), Richard Russell, Diane Wilburn (Ken), Mike Russell (Teresa), Linda Robbins (Tommy), Pam Dillard (John), and Kathy Lee Magill (Randy Newman). Her legacy extends through her grandchilden, including Steven Alexander, Samantha Lamb, Andrew Russell, Amanda Cave, Chris Cave, Samuel Sockwell, Greg Sockwell, Cherish Chappell, Stephanie House, Michael N. Russell, Paetra Tidwel, Mallory Robbins, Anthony Robbins, Joshua McMillen, John Austin Dillard, Jacob Dillard, Lauri Dillard, Doug Newman, Matt Wilburn, and Rachael Guy, as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who cherished her unconditional love.

Betty's interests were as varied as they were delightful; she found joy in crocheting, sewing, fishing, and collecting Barbies and costume jewelry. Her creativity blossomed through crafts, and she cherished quiet evenings spent watching the old westerns. These passions, along with her unwavering spirit, formed the tapestry of her life, reflecting her vibrant heart and nurturing soul.

Betty's family mourns the loss of her presence while honoring the memory of those who have gone before her, including her husband Artis Russell Sr., her parents James Lowery and Hettie Lowery, as well as her siblings Tommy Lowery, Maxine Brooks, Bill Lowery, and Juanita Sayre.

Her spirit and legacy will be celebrated during a Visitation on April 11, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, both to be held at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory, Mississippi. Burial to follow at Greenbrier Cemetery in Becker, MS.

Betty Jean Russell leaves behind a rich heritage of love, resilience, and creativity that will live on through her family and friends, forever intertwined in their hearts and memories.
