Audry Calhoun, 86, passed away on August 23, 2026, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. Born on January 18, 1940, in Mississippi, Audry’s remarkable journey touched many lives and leaves behind a cherished legacy.
Growing up in Mississippi, Audry attended Amory High School. After completing her education, she began a dedicated career at the Amory Garment Factory, where she became known for her hardworking nature and commitment to excellence. Audry's personality was characterized by her feistiness and sense of humor. She was someone who enjoyed a good conversation, and “talked a lot”—always making sure everyone felt included and valued in her company.
Sundays were a special time for Audry, as she lovingly gathered her family and close friends for delicious Sunday dinners that became treasured family traditions. These happy gatherings served as the heart of many memorable moments, where stories, love, and laughter were shared. Audry adored her grandchildren, Joshua Calhoun and Haiden Robinson, always reminding them and others just how “truly blessed” she felt to be part of their lives. The bond she shared with her grandchildren was a testament to her nurturing heart, and being their grandmother remained one of her proudest accomplishments. She also carried a deep love for her son, Robert Barry Calhoun. Audry found joy in her personal interests. she was an enthusiastic fan of Elvis and had a fondness for the ID channel, which provided her many hours of entertainment. Her enduring saying, “I am truly blessed,” reflects the gratitude and humility with which she approached each day.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Joshua Calhoun and Haiden Robinson (Jamye); and her great-grandchildren, Sydney Hadaway, Sawyer Calhoun, Sadie Robinson, Conner Britt, and Axel Robinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Robert Barry Calhoun, and her siblings, including Grandville Armstrong, Mable Lee Armstrong, JB Armstrong, Burma Mae Armstrong, Mary Armstrong, E.D. Armstrong, Joe Armstrong, Billy James Armstrong, Nell Armstrong, Gussie Armstrong, and Johnny Armstrong. Their memories and shared experiences shaped her life and remained a source of comfort and joy over the years.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on August 29, 2026, at Amory Historical Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of a life so well-lived and deeply loved. Pallbearers will be Jake Higginbotham, Easton Higginbotham, Sawyer Calhoun, Conner Britt, Axel Roberts, Cooper Laney, and Mason Laney.
