James H. “Jimmy” Collums, 85, passed away on May 5, 2024 in Tupelo, MS. He was born September 18, 1938 to Carnice C. Collums and Nona Mae Phillips in Pontotoc County. He married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Collums on December 25, 1960.
James graduated from Smithville High School in 1958. He was a Patriot and proudly served his country in the US Army. He was a member of the Army American Legion. He was a hard worker and good provider. He worked at Walker Manufacturing in Aberdeen, MS for twenty-five years as a Tool-Die maker. He received many awards there including employee of the month. James was active member of CBC Church in Smithville, MS.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; one son, Mike (Cindy); grandson, Tyler; one sister, Sammie Elliot (Hubert); two brothers, Charles (Angela), and Terry (Sue); two sister-in-laws, Barbara and Brenda.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Carnice C. Collums and Nona Mae Phillips; one sister, Patty Nestor (Arthur); three brothers, Duane Collums (Lavell), Lynn Collums, and Phillip Collums.
His family finds comfort and peace in the knowledge of him being in the presence of the Lord.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Wednesday May 8, 2024, at 3:00 PM, at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Smithville, Mississippi with Bro. Brandon Harris officiating. Private burial will follow at Haughton Memorial Gardens, with pallbearers being Toby Collums, Chad Collums, Chris Collums, Phillip Collums, Randy Collums, and Tyler Collums. Honorary pallbearer is Adam Tucker.
Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday May 8, 2024, at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Smithville, MS from 2pm until 3pm.
