Helen Patton

August 15, 1928 - April 6, 2022

Amory/Nettleton… Mrs. Helen Parker Patton, 93, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2022 at Diversicare of Amory. Born on August 15, 1928 in the Carolina Community, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Minnie Parker. She attended Carolina School and was a member of the Carolina Baptist Church. She married Charles E. Patton on October 4, 1952. Early in life, she was employed by Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago, IL and also worked at the Zion Garment Company. Helen loved to help people. She worked at the Zion Nursing Home, was a nurses aid at Beverly Healthcare in Tupelo and also sat with those who needed her help. Helen was a quiet and hard working woman. She was a good country girl who was strong-willed and outspoken at times. She loved to complete crossword puzzles and working in her yard. She would sit with friends to have a good cup of coffee. Two of her closest coffee friends were Fronda Miller, Bobbie Denman and Jimmie Parker. She loved country music especially Tom Jones, Hank Williams, Sr. and Glen Campbell. She and her husband loved to dance prior to his death. Mostly, she enjoyed her family especially her grandchildren. Her death will leave a huge whole in their hearts, but they know that she is with the family members who have preceded her death. They take comfort knowing that they will see her again one day. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband, Charles E. Patton, a daughter, Pam Creekmore; 2 sisters: Nettie Mae Shackelford (Alton) and Margieree Gray (Gordon); 5 brothers: Shellie Benson Parker (Hazel), Swiss W. Parker (Maxine), Walter Lee Parker (Jimmie), Hollis Parker and Charles Parker. Helen is survived by her daughter, Beverly Turner of Nettleton; 1 son, Michael Patton and his wife Tami from Kenosha, WI; one sister-in-law, Barbara Parker of Tupelo, one son-in-law, David Creekmore of Alabama; 10 Grandchildren; 25 Great-grandchildren; 10 Great-Great Grandchildren and a host of niece and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Homes with Bro. Sammy Bostik officiating. Burial will be in New Chapel Cemetery in the Evergreen Community in Itawamba County. Pallbearers will be Chris Patton, Matthew Patton, Dyrk Baker, Jacob Bostik, Landon Baker and Justin Petersen.
