Smithville — Cayce Ray Carter, 41, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the Meadows in Fulton, MS. Born on March 12, 1977, he is the son of Donnie Ray Carter and the late Dannis Lane Thompson Mason. Cayce was fortunate in that his dad was instrumental in teaching him to weld at the early age of 12. Cayce graduated with the class of 1995 at Smithville High School. He attended the Vocational school where he continued to excel in welding. He was a pipe-welder with Kerr McGee and also welded for Bill Thompson. He was a hard working young man who took a lot of pride in his work. He always gave 110% in whatever he did. As a young man, Cayce had a wicked sense of humor, an unsuspecting jokester and one who loved to cut up. In his spare time, Cayce loved to build car motors and motorcycle engines. He would ride motorcycles, 4-wheelers and went mud riding when he could. Cayce had a very special bond with his dogs that provided him with countless hours of companionship. He loved to be outside and would spend hours mowing. He would listen to Country music and Rock ‘N’ Roll music. At age 28, one accomplishment that Cayce was the proudest of was to learn to use his left hand to perfection as a result of a stroke. Cayce was a very caring, compassionate and very dedicated to his family. If you knew Cayce, you knew that he was a very generous soul especially at Christmas. He would shower everyone with love and gifts. Cayce will be remembered for his infectious smile and courage. Cayce is survived by his father, Donnie Ray Carter (Tammy) who loved him unconditionally and was devoted to Cayce throughout his life; sisters: Lacy Carter Morgan (Jay), and Katy Jo Carter, both of Warrensburg, MO; Nephews, Gus Morgan and Finn Morgan; Step-mother, Sally Hill; and special friends, Robbie Horn. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Ken Mason. A celebration of life service for Cayce Carter will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 16 at E.E.
